2020 General Election Campaign Contributions

Texas Democratic Women is pleased to announce its 2020 General Election campaign contributions. Most of these contributions are aimed at supporting candidates in key districts about to go Democratic and first-term incumbent state representatives, with gaining a Democratic majority in the state legislature as our goal. Additional contributions are directed to candidates pushing the envelope for Democrats in high-profile statewide, judicial and state House races, and TDW members running to represent the areas where their TDW chapters are found.

Chrysta Castaneda, candidate for Texas Railroad Commissioner will receive $10,000.

$1,200 each goes to:

  • Judge Amy Clark Meachum, candidate for Chief Justice, Texas Supreme Court,
  • Kathy Cheng, candidate for Texas Supreme Court, Place 6,
  • Judge Staci Williams, candidate for Texas Supreme Court, Place 7,
  • Justice Gisela Triana, candidate for Texas Supreme Court, Place 8,
  • Hon. Elizabeth Frizell, candidate for Texas Court of Criminal Appeals, Place 3, and
  • Judge Tina Yoo Clinton, candidate for Texas Court of Criminal Appeals, Place 4

$1,000 each has been directed to:

  • Rebecca Bell-Metereau, candidate for State Board of Education, District 5,
  • Brenda Davis, candidate for State Board of Education District 9, and
  • Marsha Burnett-Webster, candidate for State Board of Education, District 10.

The Hon. Susan Criss, candidate for Texas Senate District 11, will receive $1,500.

Likethia “KeKe” Williams, candidate for Texas House District 54, and Alisa Simmons, candidate for Texas House District 94, will each receive $3,000.

State Representative Terry Meza, of Texas House District 105, and Ann Johnson, candidate for Texas House District 134 are each receiving $2,100.

$2,000 each will be received by:

  • Representative Rhetta A. Bowers, of Texas House District 113,
  • Representative Gina Calanni, of Texas House District 132,
  • Sarah DeMerchant, candidate for Texas House District 26,
  • Akilah Bacy, candidate for Texas House District 138,
  • Representative Michele Beckley of Texas House District 65, and
  • Janet Dudding, candidate for Texas House District 14.

Representave Erin Zweiner, incumbent candidate for Texas House District 45 will receive $1,100.

$1,000 is being presented to:

  • Representative Barbara Gervin-Hawkins of Texas House District 120,
  • Angela Brewer, candidate for Texas House District 64,
  • Elizabeth Markowitz, candidate for Texas House District 28,
  • Representative Ana-Maria Ramos, of Texas House District 102,
  • Celina Montoya, candidate for Texas House District 121,
  • Lydia Bean, candidate for Texas House District 93,
  • Joanna Cattanach, candidate for Texas House District 108,
  • Brandy Chambers, candidate for Texas House District 112,
  • Representative Vicki Goodwin, of Texas House District 47,
  • Elizabeth Beck, candidate for Texas House District 97, and
  • Sharon Hirsch, candidate for Texas House District 66.

$500 each will go to:

  • Katherine Turner Pearson, candidate for Texas House District 56,
  • Cindy Rocha, candidate for Texas House District 58, and
  • Penny Morales Shaw, candidate for Texas House District 148.

Each of the following will receive $250:

  • Kayla Alix, candidate for Texas House District 129,
  • Sandra G. Moore, candidate for Texas House District 133,
  • Representative Nicole Collier, of Texas House District 95,
  • Debra Edmondson, candidate for Texas House District 98,
  • Representative Toni Rose, of Texas House District 110, and
  • Representative Yvonne Davis, of Texas House District 111.
