JUDGE ADAMS GUEST SPEAKER TO DEMOCRATIC WOMEN
Judge Don Adams, retired Texas senator and current presiding municipal judge of the cities of Meadowlakes, Sunrise Beach, Cottonwood Shores and Highland Haven, will be the guest speaker to Highland Lakes Democratic Women on Thursday, June 23rd.
The monthly luncheon is held at Meadowlakes Restaurant, 220 Meadowlakes Dr., in Meadowlakes. Registration begins at 11:30 a.m., members and guests will be served shortly thereafter, and a short business meeting will be conducted before Judge Adams speaks at noon.
Adams is a graduate of Baylor School of Business and Baylor School of Law. He served as a Texas legislator and senator (holding Chairs of Senate Finance and Senate Administration committees), Senate President Pro Tem, and general counsel to two Texas governors. Adams was involved in writing and passing the first Texas Open Records Act, and has been called “founding father of the people’s right to know.” Judge Adams serves on several community boards, is guest lecturer at LBJ School of Public Affairs and Texas State University, as well as General Counsel Volunteer with Highland Lakes CASA, where his wife was a long-time volunteer.
