This has been a busy year, but just wait until next year! By the time you read this, filing for office for 2014 will be completed and we will know who is running for what. We have a lot of women running. We know that when the going gets tough, the women come out and solve the problems – after all we are used to solving problems with home, family and work. We will hear from many of these candidates at the TDW Convention, February 21-22, 2014. We know what we have to do – GET THEM ELECTED. We know how to get them elected –
MAKE A LIST OF OUR FRIENDS AND MAKE SURE THEY VOTE!
When Women Vote Democrats Win.
Just think how wonderful it will be to have Governor Davis in the Governor’s Mansion and Lt. Governor Van De Putte presiding over the Senate (and she doesn’t have to practice because she has done it in the past). And our focus must be on the U.S. Senate (Cornyn’s seat) and the U.S. House – all of it. We must pick a candidate in each position to get behind and push! We have some good candidates for state-wide offices, so TDW will be spreading ourselves thin. Remember, we can rest after the election!
At the convention we need to elect a new TDW Board. The only office that was elected last year is the President-Elect Tammie Hartgroves. I encourage all of the members to take a look at the offices and see where your talents are. The biggest office in time and talent is the Treasurer – a big responsibility but with help from some of us who have been the past treasurer. Ann Price has been Treasurer two years, the usual term, and we need someone to step up for this all important job. For information on how to get on the ballot contact Lila Aguirre, the Elections Chair, by December 24 at firstname.lastname@example.org.
We have work to do – Forward Together!
