The Bell County Texas Democratic Women recently awarded four scholarships at their annual scholarship banquet. Scholarships were awarded to students based on academics, leadership skills and an essay.
Alexandra Fernandez of Temple High School was awarded the Women Helping Women scholarship. She will be attending the University of Texas-Austin to pursue a business degree. Ms. Fernandez will be the first member of her family to attend college.
J. R. Morgan, also from Temple High School, was awarded the Richard E. Morgan memorial scholarship. He will be attending Temple College with the intent of pursuing a law degree.
Unable to attend due to a military change of station move to Nevada, Xavier Moffit from Belton High School was also a scholarship winner. Mr. Moffit will be attending the University of Nevada-Las Vegas where he will study kinesiology.
The final scholarship was awarded to Sarah Kennedy of Rogers High School, who is not pictured above. She will be attending the University of Mississippi and plans to seek a degree in the medical field.
