My how time flies when you are campaigning and having fun! We warned you at the state convention that you better get your running shoes laced up and ready – we were not kidding. Statewide there is an increased level of activism, enthusiam and excitement, especially among women.
Cameron County is now an official TDW chapter. We are so happy to welcome them to the TDW family and hopefully can present their charter at the Summer Retreat. Also, Hunt and Midland counties have reactivated their chapters and are building their member bases. We all know the sayings, “there is strength in numbers,” and united we stand.” I certainly believe there is validity in these sayings and we welcome new chapters to help TDW spread the Democratic message and the TDW mission. Recently, I received inquires from El Paso and Matagorda counties regarding new chapter formation in those counties. We have coresponded with individuals in both of those counties to begin the process and our membership chair, Sharon Davis, will be coordinating those efforts. If you are a Democratic woman and your local chapter has become inactive or you do not have a local TDW chapter, I invite you to contact either Sharon Davis or myself and we will advise you on the process of either reactivating your chapter, locating a chapter in your vicinity or forming a new TDW chapter. This year is pivotal in our mission to take back Texas for all her citizens and turn Texas blue, once again. We need everyone’s help to achieve our goals.
Be sure to mark your calendars for the following important dates:
